Description

A restored 1895 german hall with victorian front porch. Large original entry doors lead to arched vestibule. Ballroom has refinished original hardwood floors. The Ballroom is surrounded by eight archways leading to carpeted side wings.

History

Built in 1847 as the first brick Baptist Church west of St. Louis. Purchased in 1895 by BoonvilleTurn Verein. Remodeled in victorian style by St. Louis architect. The Turners added wings onto each side of building, proscenium stage area and barroom in back. Served as Four Square Gospel Church from 1932. Sold to Lloyd Geiger Sr. 1936 used as Central Furniture till 1970. Served as a warehouse till 1990. Purchased in 1992  and restoration began by David Oswald. Grand Opening as rental hall October 1997 by David and Lesley Oswald.
